Sorry, I have no experience at Hobby Lobby. I would guess it's probably like Jo-Ann Fabrics - some okay, some no so good.

I agree - check each bolt. You can often tell by feel if the fabric is good quality or just has lots of sizing. Sometimes you can 'see' how tightly woven it is.

It is like JoAnn Fabrics - some good, some not so good. I have purchased fabrics there and been pretty happy overall.

I shouldn't need more than 1 or 2 FQ's, so I hope it's good. Thanks, everyone!

I was just there today. I picked up Kona cotton solids for $6.26 a yard. There was a lesser quality of cotton solid selection also. It was $4.89. I was looking for the solids and "I Spy" fabrics, so did not look at everything. The I Spy fabrics were $4.89 to 6.99 and that included some Robert Kaufman.

I like the Hobby Lobby stores more than JoAnn's. They are bright, clean and well organized. I still frequent JoAnn's, but they seem so overstuffed and jumbled. I find things hard to find.

One gripe about JoAnn's fat quarters. They are very, very thin. Even if they are the perfect color, you won't want to use them.

Hobby Lobby has a variety of fabrics, not just quilting cottons. Keep that in mind when you shop.

I wasn't impressed with them. I was really excited when I heard one was coming here and then was disappointed, the selection is limited. I really don't see much difference in quality, the best quality around here is the LQS and their prices are just too high. I only go when there is a sale.

I finally made it to Hobby Lobby and the fabric style I needed was not a good fabric. For the most part, most of the fabrics were just full of starch and not good quality. So, I went to my LQS yesterday and got what I needed :-)

I looked there last year for fabric for a window seat cushion. There were several that I considered but I ended up ordering from fabric.com.
