Just wondering if you received any replies or additional information about this, because I have the same question about Myson wall panel radiators. They are much much cheaper than Runtal, they are available even on Home Depot's website, however there is very little reviews or information about them. Any information you could provide would be helpful, if you have obtained his answers already. Thank you.

I went with Runtal due to overwhelming reviews, plus my friend who is a contractor said that although they are top dollar, they are his favorite heater, high quality, and look amazing. He was correct. Below is a photo after he installed it. Mounted approx 5” off the floor, it is so attractive it almost seems like a design feature in my renovated bathroom.

Apparently the Runtals are much more efficient that standard fin baseboard hydronic radiators. Mine is smaller than the fin it replaced, and it puts out more heat and stay warmer longer after the call for heat switches off.

I am deciding between the two systems right now. My house is a full renovation, took out an old forced air furnace and all ducts (covered in asbestos). My calculations show that Runtals use much less H2O to produce the same BTUH. This means smaller boiler, therefore less gas so Runtal will save you money in operating costs.

I first came across Runtal in 1980, when I was working at a hotel in Grindelwald Switzerland. My boss proudly explained that the thin double panel radiator in my room was a Swiss invention. The purpose wasn't to make a "modern" looking radiator but the most fuel efficient heating unit possible as utilities are much more expensive in Europe than the US. My room was always toasty and I could dry my ski socks by hanging them on the panels.

(Laundry was also expensive, one load = 10 SF = 10 liters of beer = 5 days of beer money!)

I LOVE our Runtal that is in our new bathroom reno, it is the one above in my pic. Boy are they pricey, seriously 10x the cost of standard fin-type baseboard radiator A 36" wide Slant/Fins are about $40, my Runtal, 30" wide x 9" tall, was $400 + $65 for the angle valves! If anyone happens to know another manufacturer that makes an angle valve that fits Runtal, please do tell. Seems the only available is through Runtal, although I believe the Runtal valves are made by a company called Oventrop, yet the Oventrop equivalent is near impossible to find...

I have not seen a Myson in person, but I doubt that I would find it more attractive than the Runtal. The Runtal is, well, DAMN SEXY! Yes, you heard it right. I called a radiator sexy. That's what my life has come to... Seriously, though, it is so elegant looking, that it almost seems like a design feature in my bathroom. I saw the Buderus panel radiators up close, and although they are effective and efficient, they were bulky and sloppy looking compared to the looks of my Runtal.

So amused to see all this activity a full year after I posted the original question! We ended up going with Myson radiators throughout (but the range which looks closer to the design for which Runtal is known.) We have been back in the apartment a couple of months now and are extremely happy with them! They are efficient, in terms of both space and heat, as well as beautiful! So much more attractive, easy to clean and child friendly than the slant fin baseboards they replaced. One thing I will say is that delivery took forever (we are still waiting on a couple), though this may be a function of the particular supplier our plumber used.

Do you know what model number, or model line of Myson yours are? As you mentioned, these look similar to the Runtal...
