There is a small filler panel on each side of the washer and dryer (you can see these in the other pictures). These filler panels are actually doors mounted on self close snap hinges. You can push open these doors to access the back of the machines for service/hook ups. The hinges you see are the bathroom door hinges. The door was removed so the cabinets and machines could be easily relocated into the bathroom.
