If it just fertilizer, then yes, it is fine. Just don't overdo (which you shouldn't anyway).....or preferably, use an organic fert. btw, ferts with weed control are really discouraged from use in western WA. At one time they were considered being removed from the market. Too much pollution of groundwater and therefore streams and other waterways.

Personally, in this area, I'd wait until May to fertilize, especially if using an organic.

Weed n feed products are discouraged for everyone on all the good garden forums. They are hard to apply correctly and the timing is usually off. For example weed control works better in April while fertilizer works better in May. On a more micro scale, weeds die better when they are well fertilized. But with wnf products the fertilizer takes a few days to go to work while the herbicide goes to work immediately. By the time the weeds are healthy enough to die quickly, the herbicide is gone. And thirdly it is much more effective to spot spray weeds with a foliar type spray (Weed b Gon and others). Spreading granular herbicide over plants that do not need to be killed is a huge waste and contaminant.
