HI Amanda - are you planning on taking everything out and starting over, or do you plan on working around some existing items? If you're keeping a few things, which ones are you planning on keeping?

I think you are looking for ideas on the shower curtain, paint and accessories, right? Everything looks fairly new and neutral. What colors, patterns and styles do you favor? Traditional? European classic? Either of those would look good in this bath. I would get a thicker framed mirror in the oil rubbed bronze. Pick a 2 or 3 colored printed shower curtain you love. Draw colors from that for your towels, rugs and accessories.

Maybe add a wrought iron art piece over the "loo" to match the fixtures

You could paint it grey. Is there some grey in the shower tile?

How about painting the cabinet white and adding a pop color either through a shelf in back of the toilet with some items with the pop color or a towel rack with some towels with a pop color. I love your shower tile and would want that to be seen with maybe a clear curtain. Also some new accessories like soap dish, wastebasket in a pop color maybe orange , not sure because it is hard to see the shower tile color. Places like home goods are great for things like this

Need some color, everything is a shade of beige! Different mirror for sure would help.

paint is flat. try using a strong color like a dark chocolate brown then layer in some art in light frames. I think framing the mirror is nice but you could try gluing some glass tiles around the edge or metal pieces. Add sparkle.

Hi Amanda, I like the suggestions of adding art work and painting grey.

Before you paint, choose your accessories. It is easier to pick a paint color to match your shower curtain than vice versa. Decide the look you want. Spa, warm & cozy, bright and cheerful? For spa- choose rich fabrics and fluffy towels. For warm and cozy bring in textures and soft colors etc.Jars to hold the things they may have forgotten at home.

If my color is right on my monitor, I would paint the walls the color of the green in the accent tile in the tub area.....then add espresso brown floating shelves above the toilet. The mirror is not bad as is to me, but you could get a framed mirror that is smaller than one you have now and move the electrical to install 2 sconce fixtures on each side.

The Grey/Coral Ikat Shower Curtain above is a good example of picking a color. A burnt orange might seem bold but it could work really well. Here's some rough colorizations.

The Iveta Abolina shower curtain that Kelly posted is very interesting but still spa-like. The apothecary jars for soaps, cotton balls, etc is also a very good idea. You could pull a gray or blue from the Iveta Abolina shower curtain for the wall color.

What color is that tile in the tub area? Just out of curiousity.....I actually like that pumpkiny color above that macmedia posted for wall color. the second pic (top right) Goes with everything you have going on in there. Just need to add some accessories mainly.

to open that small bathroom up, I would forgo the shower curtain and go with a clear glass frame less shower door for starters. Then paint the walls the same muted tone as the tile in your shower. Add luxury embellishments to make the room seem like a bathroom in a really nice hotel and be sure to include a basket full of pretty soaps, toothbrushes, shavers, and any thing else your guests might have forgotten to bring. Hang big, thick, thirsty towels (pull one of the colors from your accent tiles for the towels) and an over sized terry bathrobe on the back of the door. Make it a tiny little guest retreat!

I agree with painting it gray. Pewter by Benjamin Moore is a great color. I'd consider retiling the shower. I think a mosaic pattern would really work nice. The brooklyn would look great with gray paint. Hope this helps!

still dying to know what color that tile is??? everyone's suggesting gray, so I'm wondering if it IS gray? photos and monitors are deceiving sometimes...

oh yea...and what's your budget exactly? I'm seeing major renovation advice here!

Here i am!! These are fabulous suggestions, thank you! While I would love to rip out the tub and put in a walk in shower, the house is brand new, so that will likely not happen right away. The glass tile in the shower is a taupe/gray mix, so gray could work in there. and @mpoulsom, i love the tile idea above, we actually did something very similar in our master bath. ;-) I love the map idea too. I do have a collection of these:

Variations on the Pewter color. I love gray but wife 2.0 does not! White or Silver mirror might be nice with that.

framing the mirror could add another design element = pizzazz :)

I thought I wrote a comment - not here - I had said that I had recommended inexpensive maps because if you use your shower frequently it will cause them to get mouldy. However if you use it infrequently go for your lovely maps and use a deep grey (but check it doesn't have green, blue or red undertones but a brown undertone)

Is the vanity black or brown? No matter - Consider painting the walls the same color and add your cool print collection! I only use clear shower curtains, and if your budget allows, I'd do a half-wall of glass at the shower end - that way your guest could take a bath & not feel closed in:

Is this a hall bath or attached to a bedroom? I like to make sure that guests have something interesting to look at when using the facilities. Right now, there's a canvas print of song lyrics hanging in my powder room. ;)

I like your maps and the deep gray suggested by ASVInteriors. I also liked the macmedia pumpkin orange color, but probably not with your maps.

I would suggest that you paint the walls more of antique white, which would be closer to the color of the porcelain fixtures, and which still would contrast a bit from the white of the fixtures and the beige of the tile. I would suggest you choose an interesting accent color you absolutely love and then find towels and a few small accessories in that color. A white shower curtain with a border print that features a bit of the accent color would look wonderful and would add pattern to the room.
