My husband has not flipped out yet. He even went to the local non BBS garden store and told me what they had over the phone. Due to my risky behavior earlier, I no longer had a Black Krim. He found me a replacement, plus three more to try, and brought home a surprise. I will be busy with the tiller this weekend.

After the cold toasting some of mine that I did not have a back up for , I germinated them again. Also added Delicious and Chocolate Cherry. I might buy from BBS one of each Celebrity and Jet Star , if I can find.

Janice ... My DH bought me one of those little gas cultivator tiller machines at my request. I have wanted one for years. I had training this evening. I had already prepped more than half of our raised beds by hand. I'm excited about the new opportunity.

We've grown Black Krim for years. It's a great producer but some years the concentric cracking was problematic. Last year we trialed BKX (Black Krim PL) for the first time. It wasn't quite as productive but the fruits were larger and the cracking was minimal. I know .... we should have grown both side by side. Just a thought.

So what were your three new ones to try?

Sey, there is a store in Charleston, Hyams, that received their tomato shipment today. These are not Bonnie's. only 1.98 each. Good looking starts. Mostly hierlooms.

Shell, in addition to the Black Krim: Cherokee Green, Orange Blossom, and a Cherokee Purple. The surprise: Chocolate Cherry.

Is your tiller fairly conventional, or specialized for a bed?

i have a couple CPs, but they were late germinators . I grew an OB last year, a very nice early orange determinate. This will be first time growing a CG or a CC.

Janice .... Very nice. We have not grown OB or CC. We've grown Black Cherry many times and I'm wondering how different CC is? I will have to research OB. Cherokee Green is a great variety. I hope it does well for you.

I grew Cherokee Green for the first time last year; I purchased the plant past its prime (leggy and with a tomato formed already), so it wasn't grown in ideal conditions. We only got two tomatoes in total but I saved seeds and will grow them this year, hopefully they will be more prolific. It is very sweet and flavourful, I liked it better than ARGG (Aunt Ruby's German Green).

Janice, those purchase maters look great and the price is right. I will wait for purchased plant until I have done planting out all my own. I don't like buying Bonnie plants. I rather buy small local grower products if available.

False alarm .... I thought I was done last week but we forgot about the plants we sell at the FM. Today I started Cherokee Purple, Brandywine Pink, Brandy Boy F1, and Big Beef F1. I also started Sun Gold F1, Sunchocola F1, Galina's, Riesentraube, and Sunrise Bumble Bee for plant sales. Our plant sales will be limited to these 9 varieties.
