TEEN ROOM DESIGN HELP!

My son who is 14 and were moving into a new home. His room will be 13x11. He is not interested in gaming or sports but he is very into a California chill look. He thought of having a feature wall of thick blue and white stripes with beige walls and then California accent pieces. What else do you recommend?
