Always think I should make seasonal changes but never quite get around to it

We love to refresh contemporary spaces with new pendant lights for spring!

If anything, it's the seasonal decor. However, I don't make any major changes to my home on a seasonal basis.

It'll probably be at least another month before its warm enough to finally switch from the flannel sheets to cotton. It feels so good after 6-7 months of flannel.

I change my décor and lighting with the changing Seasons and Holidays. Around my garage doors, Breezeway, Breakfast Patio, and Back Patio. My front bench, swing & lamp post. My chain link fencing with grapevines (lighting). And I love doing it! I can't wait for each Season & Holiday to arrive. Happy Spring everyone and Happy Decorating!

I find that the simple act of updating seasonal decor is the easiest and most effective way to present one's home for the spring season. A floral arrangement here, a floral throw pillow there, generous splashes of pink, lavender and aqua--these light touches can make a major impact when it comes to spring decor.

Other: flowers on the table, even if that means just bringing in a branch of forsythia from the yard.

I swap out some decor. I have a rotation for seasons with Spring/Summer it's fresh flowers around the house, switch out toss pillows, kitchen island gets the return of the a giant bowl filled with some really good faux lemons I came across long ago so realistic not plastic! Eat in kitchen larger farm table adjacent gets a Spring/Summer update with large yellow magnolias FILLING an old grape bucket although fake flowers yet they are very pretty not silk yet more the feel of paper. I guess I'm partial to yellow! My home is not an, "elegant" home yet a bit more modern farm and living in the mid west I love it when I can get some of this out to feel, "sunny" again!

I change bedspreads/comfortors in the bedrooms, and pillows in the living room. Easy-peesy! But it looks different!

A tall vase with pussy-willows, forsythia, or blossoming branches. A bird's nest in a cloche, and TULIPS...must have TULIPS!

I wash windows and blinds, and it is no small task in an old house with large window with small individual panes of glass.

PS I can't wait to downsize.

I change up throw pillows, curtains, bedding, throw blankets & sometimes will change up my area carpets

I change home décor accents for every season/holiday. All décor is stored in plastic boxes with color-coordinated lids: Valentine's in pink/lavender; Spring/Easter in light green; Summer/Fall/Halloween in orange, C'mas in red or dark green. Other than C'mas, it only takes 2 hours to pack up the old and replace with the new. About the "time-cost" of a long lunch, but enjoyment for 1-3 months. Besides Christmas (which looks like it has exploded everywhere), I decorate our buffets, dining table centerpiece, throw pillows (even on the patio), coffee tables, etc. Even the dining room draperies are replaced - red & white sheers at C'mas. Leave up the red for Valentine's. Change to light green for Spring/Summer, then change to a large check in Fall colors. My newest change are the sheers on the large kitchen window - 54" wide. Poinsettia pattern at C'mas, Fall check pattern, but the same generic the rest of the year. Looking to find nice Spring, Easter, and Valentine's looks.

I've got spring/summer decor, fall decor, christmas decor, and winter decor (pared-back Christmas). I have a peony wreath on my front door and put out more bunches of flowers and plants (inside mostly fake because I don't get enough good sun for most plants). My bedding is mostly light blue and white with green accents, which I accentuate this time of year with olive green throw and euro shams. Lots of greens and some flowery pastels throughout the house, basically.
I wash windows and house siding in the early winter as we tend to have a very mild winter and I like getting it done before we snuggle down for the season. So it doesn't really need it again yet. We did just spend a day cleaning up the back deck and screen porch for the nice weather. I have since re-tarped all the patio furniture because the pollen is so bad right now.

another really fun idea is to buy an umbrella for a front door Spring decoration at say... Marshalls or TJ Maxx in a solid color. Get some very realistic long stemmed flowers and use the hook on the umbrella to hang it on the door hook and fill the umbrella with the flowers, etc.... use raffia or ribbon or........ lots of options

in lieu of the velcro closure.

Seasonal decor because it's the easiest way to update the look of the rooms in my house and I always have a seasonal wreath on 3 of my exterior doors! All of my wreaths are handmade by friends on Etsy and they are really beautiful! I do not change bedding or linens for different times of the year except the quilt on my bed. I go from the Fall/Winter quilt that I made with batting to a Spring/Summer quilt that I made with flannel instead of batting so that it's not too hot for me!

I change the pillows on my sofa to yellow and blue, and remove the throw blankets on the sofa and replaced with a blue/white/yellow quilt. I always have a wreath on my front door that gets changed at least 3 times a year. Bedding also gets changed from a duvet and comforter to just a coverlet, but it's always white.

I park my motorcycle in the driveway rather than in the garage. It gives the house a fresh and young look every time.

Slipcovers over most of living room upholstery in blue and white stripes and floral chintz, change out lamps to bring in blue and white. The sang de boeuf lamps and lacquer accents that looked so good with the winter colors move to the TV room where the other lamps had been.

I change the comforters and pillows to a lighter color and weight and put the warm throws on the sofas away for the summer.

I have bedding, towels/shower curtains, draperies, throw pillows, etc., for all four seasons, along with appropriate decorating accessories, so I am prepared for any time of year! In addition, there is also Xmas decor to consider, as well as Easter. My biggest problem is storing the seasonal stuff when it's not in use! All those soft furnishings take up a LOT of closet space!

Redecorating, decluttering, (I seem to need less n less as I get older), switching decor, lamps, wall art out from storage. I buy a few things, just enough to feel updated. I paint every five years. I cruise Pinterest n Houzz for decorating ideas. If ideas really motivates me, I get busy. Bathroom are getting BIG updates right now.

Rearrange furniture - sometimes even bringing pieces from one room to another for a new look; bring in brighter wall décor; store the rugs, throws, and curtains; and bring in fresh flowers !

I focus my attention on the outdoor spaces since we spend so much time outside, just bought a new console table & new wall art for outside. Also, seasonal plants ( even though where I live there is very little seasonal changes).

We had an old New England house with two front parlors. One now served as a dining room, the other as a living room. Both had equally convenient access to the kitchen. Only one still had a fireplace. So-ooo on the Saturday afternoon the clocks changed, we switched the furniture and function of the two rooms. It took barely thirty minutes, and the sense of changing season, along with the changing light levels and outdoor weather, was wonderful, both autumn and spring.

Garden update

I get out my basket of beach towels, change a few throw pillows and cut fresh herbs and flowers for table tops.

Wash the windows-so all that sun actually brightens rooms!

I bring in flowers, and clear out decor. Less is more in the spring and summer. Lighten things up and change out pillows, and new plants if needed. Fresh candles, clean windows. Clean out pantry, closets and drawers, buy fresh cup towels and bathroom towels and hand towels. Makes a big difference! Feels fresh!
