Decorating with Larry Bird

OK so I am proceeding with the merging of my stuff with SO's, and we have successfully navigated the "record player in the bedroom" controversy! We got a pre-amp., so the record player went back into the family room and we are really groovin' on being able to listen to our old records again!

And I'm slowly working on chasing my "bedroom blues" away. I painted our temp. bedroom and love the color, and I'm almost there with something I can live with as far as the decorating goes, even while living with less than ideal furniture and accessories. I had a nice little "Nature/North Country" theme going with my pictures of a marsh with ducks and moose, a poster of the Canadian Rockies where I've hiked, a couple of nature shots of Michigan and some nature art photos and drawings that friends gave me. So today, SO gets out his wood inlay landscape picture and I think, great, groovy, will fit right in. And then . . . his pictures of Larry Bird and Brett Favre that "have to go up on the wall." Hmmmm, not sure how they will fit into the theme . . . "What's more natural than Brett Favre?" he says . . . I already have to get used to his eagle statue being placed so that it appears to be coming at us in full attack mode while we are in bed . . .

Now if I can just figure out where to put my old David Cassidy poster, we'll be all set! ;)

LOL! Oh, dear! Sounds like you and he are clearly on a different décor wavelength! "What's more natural than Brett Favre?" Hahahaha!

Reminds me of when we decided to decorate our media room, and I wanted cool movie posters. This is the sort of thing I had in mind:

Here's what he wanted to have framed:

We compromised by going with neither.

Unhelpful comment: I've seen Metropolis at least four times.

    Good luck, pinkmountain!

I vote for posters that you disagree about going on the inside of closet doors. Then, when the door is opened, Brett Favre (whoever he is) and SO can admire each other in their "natural" states, and you and David can do the same....

I think he's very lucky he found someone with such a great sense of humor.

Okay, I'll take Brett in his natural state, keep Larry Bird, and hang Michael over your headboard to protect you from the eagle and all evils:

I still fondly reminisce about the Frampton poster that hung on my teen bedroom wall.

As a Boston sports fan, Larry is one of my all time favorites. Is the picture of Larry in his short-shorts? Not the prettiest of guys, but an amazing player.

If anyone is going over the bed to protect us from the eagle or any other "Birds" it will be my fellow alum. Ervin Johnson!

Oh dear! Does he have an office or study?

Well . . . the house has an office and a master suite, (and a garage) which right now are full of my things that I need to sort through and downsize. I am working on it . . . ! But come to think of it, maybe this is SO's strategy, to light a fire under my downsizing! He does keep mumbling about "man cave." (She says jokingly)

I think you have to break up with him immediately. Heeheehee

Seriously, unless he has an office with a door, I would draw the line at that. In return, in my case I agreed to banish all representations of cabbage roses.

Love the era of basketball players in their booty shorts! Whoever thought of migrating to baggie shorts? No bueno!

Oh! this reminds me of my MSU days and Quality Dairy commercials. I still say, "Mom still shops here"

This one doesn't have the tag line but still funny

Had a Quality Dairy in my hometown. All gone, along with the Magic. Those were the days my friend, we thought they would never end.

Delilah, I saw a few minutes (the longest few minutes of my life) of the Florida Gators playing in March Madness. There was one young man with short shorts. It was like seeing a player from the 70's. I think he's trying to make short shorts happen again. It's probably time for a change so the NBA can sell more items to the fans.
