Window trim and curtains or not??

I couldn't decide about whether to put trim around this big sliding glass door, as we were redoing the base and door trim around the house. I went with yes, but I'm second guessing. Also, should I put curtains? I was thinking the windows were too close to the wall, but through another post. Someone suggested it and now I'm reconsider. Thoughts?

    I would! You have a nice height over the top of your slider, so I would install your hardware as close to the ceiling as possible, and, even if you don't need any privacy, you could use some light-filtering fabric and it would look gorgeous! Of course, if budget would permit, I would also hire a contractor and have him set you up with a drywall pocket, or a cornice (see pics below) where you can have the drapery installed in a recessed manner, so that you can't even see the hardware.
