Elderberries are high on my to-do list! I don't a lot of experience other than foraging for them, so hopefully I'll learn something, too.

If we get some rain this week, I'm hoping to get out and take some root cuttings from some of the wild varieties I have located. I'll also try rooting some cuttings in mid-summer. I've taken cuttings and had success water rooting, but I'll try them in a soilless mix, this time and see how they do.

I had 10 last year I lost to paraquat but the people I bought them from said to cut a branch stick it in the ground. I had 7 really good ones from he 10. I was going to oder more this year from him. I think the name is riverhill nursery. They are in MO. If anyone has any extra cutting I would love to have a few.

Elderberries tend to be monoecious but pretty much self-infertile so you do need more than one to get good berry production.

There was a Oklahoma Gardening show on OTEA ch. about a farm in south eastern Oklahoma that grows Elderberries that make juice and other stuff. But I can't remember the name. You might check Elderberry farms in Oklahoma.

I will. I swear by elderberry juice for my grandson. I give him a tbsp 2x a day and honey 1x a day to knock out his allergies. He's got it rough. Lol
