Stick with the predominate color in the stone work. Terra Cotta sounds perfect. Burgundy and terra cotta aren't compatible. Lovely house!

Should I paint the sidelights and green trim moulding around the door the cameo trim color and just the door the terra cotta shade?

Not every home needs a bright front door.

Any suggestions? Looking for a change and a pop of color.

On my monitor, I like it as is, except I do think it will look more impressive with the trim between the door and sidelights painted the same color as the door.(Whatever color you choose.)

Thank you. The dark brown is just so boring. I don't want to go crazy with colors because the house style and trim are detailed enough. Just want a little updated version.

Patricia, do you think the terracotta should go right where the brown is or should I paint the sidelights and the other boxed in green moulding cameo? Should the terracotta go on up on the transom too?

I was rethinking a reddish brown toned color like Benjamin Moore Country Redwood but was concerned it might clash with the tones in the stone foundation when I came across this house online which is similar in the greens and stone foundation to what I have. They used a red on the door. In an earlier post Diana had suggested Heritage Red. Do you think something similar would work for me?

Red that does not have a "blue" or "purple" undertone would be fine. I am not familiar with Heritage Red. Consider the reds that have an orange undertone: Benjamin Moore Baked Terra Cotta (lovely), Tucson Red, Navajo Red or Mexicana Red.

I'd paint the door white.

Only paint the door a color, sidelights should be the cameo trim color. Also paint the columns all the cameo color. I would also remove all the shutters.

I agree with emmarene. I think white would give the entry more presence.
