I really like the trim the same color as the wall. It is a more modern look. I don't see an issue if you paint only the doors white. If you were to paint the doors the same color as the wall they would blend in too much.

Create Your Space Design Thank you. I will leave the doors white. Should I paint the stair rail grey or can I leave it white? I"m thinking I should leave the stair rail white, but paint the bottom strip right along the stairs grey.

vtng Ok I will leave stair rail white. What about the trim at the top of the ledge to the left of the stairs? Leave that white also? It has the same trim as the stair rail.

keep it white since it looks like it's "part" of the same stair rail space. If you are feeling risky, some of these trims (not the stairwell, but other areas) can be black.

To get the look of your inspiration photo, everything needs to be the same color…including doors. If I am not mistaken, in your photo, the walls are done in a flat/matte finish and the trim in a semi-gloss…same color, but the finishes give a different look.

It is a beautiful hallway, but to do the entire house the same….I don’t think I would do it..

I would not paint just the baseboards agreeable gray. I would do white on all woodwork.

I have a neighbor that painted her baseboard and door trim the same color as the walls....was a small house and looked really awful. Was grey.

JudyG Designs You're right on the finishes. White trim would be a no brainer if I had crown molding like in your picture. But I don't and I don't plan on putting any in, so I was thinking about achieving a more seamless look with the baseboards. Still, perhaps I'd be better off with white.

I agree…particularly because you doors and frames are white.
