Kitchen facelift

I believe our kitchen was too boring and I needed to add a touch of colour, especially since I felt that the colours were clashing. The doors are being profesionally spray painted by "True North Spraying Services" , the backsplash is glass mosaic in dark brown with hue of copper in it (to match the hardware that I kept). The counter top is now being really "visible" and I don't hate the floor as much. As a matter of fact I think they all go better together now. This facelift was cheaper to be done this way than to change the cabinets or the counter top or the ceramic floors/ What do you think?

So much better! The darker cabinets contrast the lighter tiles and create a much nicer look. Great job!

Love the red Le Cruiset accents. My kitchen is glossy white and I do the same.
    Your kitchen looks incredible!

Fabulous transformation! The former tiles and counters fit the design very well.

This is great! I love the lighter upper cabinets and darker lower ones. The greys are stunning and make it sleek but with personality!

Keeping the old backsplash would not only have saved them money, but made the new appliances and cabinet color stand out. Also a curving tracklight would give better light and emphasis where they wanted...

Love that tracklight idea, above! The kitchen looks FAB, and this light would be perfect. I have to have a ceiling fan in my kitchen, so wish I could use this light idea. We use track lights in several other places.

You did it right. Catch your breath and an electrician can pull the wires and give you spots if you want. I don't think i've ever seen such bang for the buck before. You dun good!!!

    Keep up the good work.

We are currently trying to do the same with our cabinets. We've primed and painted the sides and crown mould ourselves. This turned out great. Then took the doors to a cabinet builder to be sprayed with lacquer. Unfortunately, no matter what he has tried (sealer sprayed on first, primer painted on first), the lacquer always reacts with the original finish and crackles. He only tried this on the backs of a few doors, so not all is lost, but not sure what to try next. Any suggestions?

Great work. Looks like a layout that could work for our kitchen, although ours needs more than a facelift! Love the color choices.

It's a huge improvement from what was there. I do think you should still consider installing a new countertop at some point, but what has been done is excellent!

Great Job, it look beautiful.. If I might suggest tow simple little thing to finish the room, I would change the light fixture and add some under the counter lighting.. You can pick up so many different under the count light that are budget friendly at your local big box stores, from plugin to battery operated..
