You'll note the inexpensive shop lights 4' long with daylight bulbs is by far the most common used.

I asked this about one month ago. I used bulbs from Amazon but ended up upgrading to a better lighting system with T12 fluorescent bulbs from Lowes in a shoplight held up by PVC pipe.

Lights should be 6500 K and at least 1600 lumens. Mine are 2400 lumens.

You can use regular shop light florescent fixtures, "Daylight" type LEDs, "Daylight" CFLs. I'm trying out a daylight spectrum LED bulb on onions and so far it's working great!
