I think a lot of it comes down to personal preference.....some people find brighter whites too stark, cold and jarring, while others want a bright, crisp white. If you like a softer white, white dove would be a great choice. It is a super popular color for a reason!

I'd use Aura. Invest in a quart of Aura Matte and a quart of Aura Satin - both in White Dove.

Sheen makes color appear darker. So even tho you are using one color of white, how it appears matte vs. satin will be different. You may feel like you're using two colors.

An old painter's trick is to take a piece of clear packing tape or regular, shiny Scotch tape and place it over your color chip. It will give you an idea of how gloss will affect the color. But considering the investment it's going to be to paint the volume of space you have to paint, I'd spring for the quarts. :D
