Poor, poor pitifull Jacaranda Tree

last modified: 9 years ago

This jacaranda has been in the ground about 3-4 years and it's not happy. Since it is springtime, I thought I'd give it this growing season to see if it actually becomes a lovely canopy. It is in full sun, in a sandy soil, and I am in need of suggestions on how to help it. I water it once a week, but maybe it needs more and could use some advice on fertilizing. Should I prune it? If so, where? I feel terrible that it is in this shape. Thank you for any good advice on this. It is about 9 feet high. I am in Zone 9B, East Central Florida. Thank you!
