I have lots of tropical plants that I bring indoors for the winter -

Curry leaf plant (Murraya koenigii)
Jasmine - Grand Duke and the regular Arabian single
Cestrum nocturnum - night blooming jasmine
Neem
Aegle marmelos
Lemongrass

They dont thrive indoors, but survive and then thrive when I bring them out in Spring. I also have amaryllis growing indoors and have grown paperwhites before.
My living room and dining room windows are all taken up by the tender tropical plants and it I wish there was an alternative to having to bring them all indoors - like a greenhouse or something. Is there someone/someplace that offers to keep plants in their greenhouse for the winter for a small fee even?

The year we sold our house and moved, I couldnt bring them inside (needed to keep the house looking nice to sell) and so left them in the attached unheated garage. The garage had some light coming through the windows plus I left the overhead light on and the plants survived-

I would have never thought to grow Nicotiana as a houseplant. I love the fragrance. I might just have to try this out next winter. All of my houseplants are normal. I do bring in super tender stuff in the winter if the greenhouse is too full or the temps are predicted to be super low (the greenhouse is plastic and can only maintain things above freezing). Most stuff suffers with the low humidity.

I used to fill the house (and garage and my office at work) with tropicals and tender perennials in the winter but don't have to since I got the greenhouse. Most of them tolerated it but like John says didn't like the dryness. Now I only keep succulent type things that like it dry and the occasional orchid when in bloom, but nothing really unconventional. That Nicotiana looks amazing, though. I was pretty amazed that mine wintered over in the ground this winter. I always thought they were a lot more cold sensitive.
