Palm Trees in New England?

Wanted to share these with everyone! Most are from my yard in Fairfield, CT but some are of other clients I have! If anyone needs palms for their yard in the Tri-State area, just visit my website and let me know!! Enjoy!

    Ravenea rivularis (Majesty palm). Unfortunately, not an easily overwintered palm for northerner homes. Outside safe from frost, it is easy and FAST. But prone to mealy bugs and scale indoors (more so than for most palm species it seems). They LOVE water so don't follow knee-jerk watering advise for most palms (which advice letting them get moderately dry between waterings), these prefer more water. In their native habitat, they even grow in standing water or swamps, which is a bit unusual for palms. I just overwintered mine successfully in the basement under florescent and natural light conditions and recently put it outside for the season, so they are possible in the North. Good luck!
