I would water again and maybe even again and wait for sprouting. Bermuda is very very persistent.

agree with echo - - you will need to repeat the RoundUp and water, regrowth process a few cycles until there is no evidence of regrowth. This can take up to an entire season. Alternately, you can do what one friend did ...bulldoze / remove the top 2 ft. of dirt and replace with decent (top) soil ....[unfortunately that is $$$].

also, where are you? Creeping red fescue isn't all it's cracked up to be imo. Why are you putting in another lawn?

We are in Calabasas in the SF valley. The backyard is pretty shaded on the non-Bermuda side and the CRF we planted has done well. The backyard grass is staying for a while as the kids play soccer back there and I am not ready to add more hardscape and re-design ( it'a a big property for LA). We already ripped out the front lawn and planted salvia, buckwheat and flax, so I know the level of effort required.

My experience is that the CRF does well with shade but withers quite a bit in sun.

yes, I had heard that, forgot to mention that it's mostly creeping red fescue but I added some micro clover and some marathon fescue with the idea that we can reconfigure the mix on the other side of the lawn if the CRF doesn't do well there. The big problem was having one side of the lawn brown and one side green for much of the year. (warm season vs. cool season grasses) The brilliant people who neglected / trashed the house before us didn't seem to think that looked odd. It really did (look odd that is)

which also means that I will have to mow the backyard lawn (no moving is the beauty of CRF) but since the kids are using it for soccer we will have to do that anyway.
