You have a great modern house with clerestory windows, an earth toned roof and a gorgeous stone chimney. Congratulations on your new home. Here's the big color issue -

Since they replaced the glass with stark white vinyl windows, we are going to have to bridge the warm colors and cool tones - you want to go to something that works with both. Right now your house tone is "richer / deeper in tone than your roof - that's a no no from a perspective of how the eye reads the proportions. The dark trim on the mid-tone body is also dated in contrast and style w/some of the vertical extensions.

I can see a great house grounded in nature tones - stone green when I look at the front but the actual stone on your chimney is so warm and rich - what if you test some warm khaki greens that carry enough gold to harmonize with the stone (green browns) for the body siding tone like http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW7733-bamboo-shoot/

These are much prettier in person and a great antidote to the "too much wood" tone feeling. Then your trim at the eaves and windows needs to help match that intensity - but in a complimentary tone - like http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW2815-renwick-olive/ - Usually I would pull a lighter tone these days for trim, but you have a dark brown. It can be a real challenge to paint over and so coming up to a mid-tone will help moderate the contrast but not break the bank. You have really strong lines in the eave and clerestory so you want them to pop and this will do it.

Paint the garage door out like the body of the house, and also the white gutters. The vertical trim that extends from the window up to the eave and down to the foundation doesn't need to be removed if you paint it the main siding color - here it is worth it to use a kilz primer before you paint. Leave the contrasting trim around the rectangle of the windows, of course.

They do have vinyl formulated paint now, but painting windows is a big job. If you would rather stay in the rusty tones / wood tones for the body of the house, you definitely need to paint them, but I think aiming at these colors will help them a lot.

With that, your front door would be really gorgeous in a penny / copper tone to echo your chimney and tie it all back together like http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW7710-brandywine/ or sw wheat penny. Here at the sidelights, where the white window frames are in close proximity to the entry stone chimney tones, and on the back elevation where the chimney tones are the focal issue, if you paint out the frames of the vinyl in a tone like http://www.sherwin-williams.com/homeowners/color/find-and-explore-colors/paint-colors-by-family/SW6120-believable-buff/ you will be a lot happier with the result and achieve color harmony. Your house is not lacking for character, that is for sure! I would use a charcoal gray stain/paint on the siding. Maybe something like Sherwin Williams Peppercorn. To accent that go with white trims. (fascia, window trims, the vertical decorative trims, everything.) Then put a nice bright color on the front door to lead people in the right direction. The spaces between the trims above and below the windows might also need something a bit weightier than just the same as the other siding.

I like color suggestions above. Koi Pond is a nice middle ground. Peppercorn is very dramatic, I don't know. Beverly's ideas are light and bright, but what about the roof? Are you replacing it?

Too bad they went with white gutters and windows. Would you open to painting the window trim?
