Hmmm... Personally, I don't eat anything that I have not positively identified, nor would I give a recommendation for eating anything going by a vague description.

Again, like fungi, there is no 'common moss'. Afaik none are toxic but I also don't believe many are palatable. Unless you are starving.

Will stay away from it. Too risky. Looks delicious as the deer eat it in early spring. Thanks to all.
