Help with crown molding size

Hi, looking to hear feedback on crown molding size. My ceilings are 9 ft tall.

Does this crown molding size look good or is it too big? it is almost 8" wide.

Contemporary spaces should not have crown. molding. That home has contemporary volumes, not discrete boxed off traditional spaces. Leave off the crown.

no casing = no crown.

I have casing around some areas, and what looks to me as a traditional staircase. I always thought my home is a traditional build.

Am I totally wrong? It's contemporary?

I do not think that you need the crown at all. Your house looks very clean without it :) And your stair case is gorgeous.

MG, I see your home as contemporary/transitional, yet you're showing a very traditional element. Not only will it make your rooms appear smaller, it will detract from the simple , beautiful space you have. I wouldn't do it on a bet...

Looks too big but it would look nice with the rest of the house .maybe In the middle of the wall you know what I mean

I think you should use it if you like crown molding...but smaller.

Beautiful home! And I love the polka dot socks. ;-)

I think it looks fine without the molding, but if you would like to add it, I would just go a little smaller.
