need help for my deck

we have a raised platform deck that is rotten. I would like to build a deck that has some character. I like the idea of large squares of individually directed boards (no idea if folks understand this) as the floor. I would like to include a pergola and workspace or bar for the bbq. Th sliding doors to the deck are about 4o inches off the ground.

Hi John! You are describing a parquet look to the deck boards no? Regardless, sounds like a great project! I think you need to engage the services of a design build firm. You can find help by hitting the"find local pros" tab on the header and following the prompts!
