I'm looking for info on the same thing... Hopefully this will bump and we can get some input. I'm looking for a 36" rangetop or cooktop, can't decide which would be better, and also trying to pick between Thermador, BlueStar, and Kitchen Aid. Any thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Open burners are much easier to clean than closed burners. But you also have to think about the 42" hood needed above, and it's cleanability, and the required makeup air that the whole ensemble will need.

I have a 36" Wolf induction cooktop. Cleaning is easy, and it doesn't heat up the kitchen nearly as much. Heat control is similar to gas, perhaps better depending on just what other cooktop you're comparing it to.
