Different color uppers and lowers??

What do you think of the grey wood tone for our lowers and island? Or should we stick with using it for only the island and do all white for the lowers and uppers?

Some of our plans:

Upper Cabinets all the way up to the ceiling

Remove wall oven and extend countertop

36 slide in stove instead of cooktop

Enlarge island from 48 to 60 in.

Frame the refrigerator

Wood grain tile floors

Subway tile backsplash (possibly)

If you want to use two different colors for the cabinets, I would keep the cabinets along the wall white and paint the island grey.

i didnt see countertops on your list. are they being replaced? neither the white or the grey look like they'd work with that warm granite

It might be a great idea to just do all of the cabinets white, and the island grey. See some of our design projects below for help with cabinets, backsplash, and countertop concepts.

Is the microwave placement set in stone? It's not too convenient for unloading the dishwasher not to have a cabinet nearby...

Thanks everyone for the response. I think we will go with all white uppers and lowers. It have the island a different color. Now one more question, which cabinet for the island, the brown wood tone from above or this dark grey (2nd cabinet in this picture)?

That's a really personal choice. Here are examples of each color:

Which do you prefer (given your other choices for the room) or alternatively which would fit better in the house? Grey appears to be very popular at present, whereas brown is more traditional.

Light gray island will look good. I would prefer all white cabinets including island and different countertops for perimeter and island! Gray or lighter wood floors will be nice.

Hi looking for some help here...I'm building a house and a friend noticed something I did not catch...the kitchen windows on the corner of the house measure 53.5 inches from the floor on the interior. With not flooring on yet or drywall she is suggesting that this could be an error? When I mentioned to my builder he said this is normal and I'm short( 5' 3)

I like the darker tone wood from the first photo for the island.

Hi Sheila, check the blueprints regarding the window height. Visually, they look a little high. It might be beneficial to start a separate thread to more easily see all your questions and responses.
