Well, I can't photoshop, but the fabric is lovely. It does however look more like a drapery weight ( kind of like barkcloth) than an upholstery weight.

Thanks CLT. The fabric sample is from books at the upholster's shop. He saw what I picked and didn't say anything about it not being heavy enough. How would I know if it won't be good enough?

I doubt you'll be able to get a good photoshopped pic from such a small upholstery sample. But here are some similarly-scaled Paisley wingback chairs.

Love the fabric but I am concerned about the pattern being distorted by the buttons and all the angles in the chair. How OCD are you? Some people are bothered by patterns that get chopped up or are out of balance, other people don't mind.

Edited to add, a good upholster should take the pattern into consideration but as you can see by the above photos, some do not.

Look at the number of 'rubs' that the fabric will withstand, especially on a recliner, where the foot rest will be rubbing against the front of the seat when it's raised and lowered. The higher the number of rubs, the better. That info should be in the sample book that you have. You may want to not have the back buttons put back on with that fabric, but it's hard to tell the size of the print, unless we see the sample sitting in the chair.

Thank you! It is 15,000 rubs, which the upholsterer says is the low end of heavy duty. The "ugly" fabric was 100,000 rubs, but we're 2 grandparents, and I'm not going with the ugly one. I like the fabric and he says it should be fine. I was just wondering how it looked all over the chair. The company that makes it is Stout. The pattern is Clairvoyant. The repeat is 27", which means that there will be more instances of the paisleys than in the examples cawaps posted. I don't have the ability to photoshop, but from what I can tell, it would probably look OK, as long as you don't have the back tufted.

I like your fabric, just skip the buttons, I think they would distort design.

So you guys all think tufting/buttons would be bad? I think I really like the tufting. Hmm. Well I googled tufted wingback chairs in paisley and see that most are not tufted, but I found a few. I'm not sure about it now.

I like tufting but know there is maintenance to it as debris accumulates in the indentations, slowly but surely. I have to keep a sharp eye on my tufted leather items.

As to your chair specifically, a solid for sure or a subtle design would allow for tufting but you still have the maintenance issue. If your heart is set on tufting you could always buy a pillow with a tufted center.

This is the closest I could find to a wing chair with tufting and a paisley-like print. I don't think the tufting works well with the paisley.
