Figs for 2017

Here in Northern VA we lucked out and had a mild winter. Well from the stand point of the Fig crop we were lucky, from the view of my apricots and plums, not so much. Lost all apricots and plums to freeze. I have 5 types of figs, brown turkey, celeste, nero, black mission, and an unknown variety. None of the trees died down to the ground as it had occurred in previous winters. The brown turkey is late to start growing, but the others already have little figs. I hope that means I will get a lot of figs before frost. Each year I have used the "pinch six" method to induce early fruit production in order to get a few figs. considering the early fruiting this year, do you believe that the pinch six method is needed this year?
