Have you sat on either of the couches? The gray tufted one looks more comfortable, but it's hard to say without the "sit test".

Are they similar in size (I can't tell from the pics)? I think the curvy one is definitely more contemporary like your other furnishings.

photo 2 would tie in with your existing furniture best IMO which is lovely from all angles in ea. room.... beautiful

First couch appears more suitable.

agree- the 1st couch. it breaks away from the design of the dining room style. to juxtapose design compliments both, rather than duplicating intent. throw pillow in abstract design would work well & add color in accessories- practically anything goes with gray.

Those dining chairs are terrifying. I would swap those out with something more inviting. I know that's not what you're asking about, but just my $.02. Regarding the sofa, I like the first one with the tufted back. Looks like a very nice space... love the chandelier.

Oh Smitrovich, I love those dining chairs -- and I doubt they're uncomfortable, given the curve on the backs. I'd feel wonderful sitting on one of those.

Looks as though the first sofa has by far the majority vote, and seeing the whole room (which I didn't at first) I'm inclining to agree now.
