How tall is this iris (to the top of the bloom, under 16 inches a dwarf)?

This iris is very dwarf. It is only about 4-5" to the top of the blooms.

The bitone purple (2nd row) that resembles your MDB doesn't have the white beard. I can't find a match :-(

Shape looks similar. Yours is nicer I think. Do its standards (upright petals) open wide that one?

Do not understand your question. That picture was taken in early evening. So the color looks darker. We still like the darker color. My tall German beard iris is more an indigo color. It is very tall, about 3' tall with the flower heads. It blooms in summer.

Sorry, I left out a word. Maybe this picture will show the space (marked with a red line) between the standards (upright petals) for clarification. When the picture of your MDB was taken the standards are practically touching one another. Some beardeds open their standards more and more as the bloom matures. Others, not so much.
