Remove all family photos. Take 80% of the stuff off the console, and either remove the shelves or do the same there. You want the space to feel large, somewhat sparse, and easy for the potential buyer to project their own life into -- everything that relates to your life closes them out.

I would take out all the clutter and the shelves and the console all the family pictures and get a new light for the ceiling without the fan I kind of like the folk art so maybe just those 2 hung somewhere and I think the mirror works over the sofa.

I wonder if you can put the console table where the TV is now, so that anyone looking can easily see where the TV can go. I would also take out the rug. Leave the room as clean and clutter-free as possible, while still letting buyers know how their furniture will fit.

Not a stager but do know that people like to picture their furniture in your house so I would take everything out except the couch, end tables and the chair. Nothing on the walls, no shelves, no entertainment center, no TV......just enough in the room to show them their couch will look good. The sparser your furnishings, the larger the room will look.,

Keep the sofa, the chair, coffee table, end tables and the lamp.

Everything else goes to the new house. Everything.

If you have another lamp that matches or coordinates with the decorated-shade lamp, put it on the other end table.

Add two bright colored pillows to the sofa.

Add a fresh, lush $20 philodendron or a blooming orchid to the coffee table.

Then you are done.
