It doesn't look too bad from the pictures... Are the center leaves firm, or limp?

They feel pretty soft to me, especially in the stems.

All violets are not the same...

Quite often a plant you've raised from leaf will do better for you than a purchased one. Myself, I can hardly keep a store bought plant alive. Yet I have a couple hundred, including some I've grown from seed....

The pot I see is actually a bit big for the plant, you want to aim for 1/3 of the leaf span of a grown plant, or about 1/2 if your plant is expected to be getting bigger....

also, it looks like you're using straight potting mix - AVs tend to do better in a mix that's a bit lighter - depending on your temperatures and humidity, you may want to try a 50/50 potting soil/perlite mix, or equal parts of peat perlite and (chunky) vermiculite.

The leaf color looks good, so I'd leave the light the same.

I don't think there's much wrong here, you just need some fine tuning....

And don't be surprised if one plant needs more light or water than another.... the only question there is whether you want to limit yourself to plants that do well in the conditions you provide, or if you're going to go through the trouble to adjust conditions for each plant.... (i tend to chuck "fussy" plants, but i do have some that i am stubborn about, so they get special treatment....)

i have a violet similar to your 2nd pic - it'a a very robust variety with long petioles that always shoot out like arrows - making a nice even rosette.

on your 1st pic - i see at least 5-6 leaves yellowing. they are old and spent - you might as well remove them. are you feeding it regularly?

Soil mealy bugs? When the weather gets warmer, they start breeding faster. They could have been since you bought the plant.
