is your countertop arabescato from pental? I had the same dilemma and finally decided on using a one piece back painted glass instead of tiles!

I love your first tile! It has a lot of interest which you can have since your countertops & cabinets are basically white. I would go for it. Everyone has subway. I love the uniqueness. Do you have pic of whole kitchen?

I like the tile, but would use a better grout color. What's the style of the rest of the space?

I love the first tile but as stated -its so hard to visualize especially with a different grout. I'm not blessed with the design eye :)

We will also be replacing lighting and floors (currently we have old school linoleum and carpet in the dining which is connected). We will be replacing with engineered harwood... color still to be determined. I'll also be getting new accessories so excuse the randomness on the counters.

I like the first tile because it seems like the kitchen needs something extra to spice it up but I also want it to remain classic(ish).

The first tile is beautiful. I'd use it. And I don't think you'll get tired of it, because backsplashes are usually small surface areas.

I saw the same design as your first picture in a model home and loved it. Even though the color is different, you can get a visual of how the shape would look with these pictures - I don't think it looks too busy.

We are in the process of building a coastal modern home. I have white cabinets, white quartz ( with a little movement ) and my island is blue. I went with the same tile you have pictured. We had it installed horizontally though. On my screen yours looks grey with white grout. Mine is white and the grout blends in so it's not as noticeable. I think it looks beautiful :). I don't have a lot of it because I have big window that looks out on the water. Not the best picture but you get the idea.

I think it's beautiful and will go well with your cabinets and countertops. I like it as is, with the white grout. If my counters weren't going to be a little too busy, I would want it myself! If you do choose it, I hope you'll post pictures when it's done!

Well, I think it will look stunning and bring some interesting feature to your kitchen. Just match the grout to the tile color you select and that will keep it consistent. Some lay this horizontally (I think that was posted above) but for your kitchen I think the normal vertical would be best. You can do almost any of the colors offered with this tile. Up to you.

The backsplash is great but too dark for your counters. Also try the tiles turned horizontally instead of vertically.

I prefer the vertical and lighter grout. But you will have to eye-ball that when the tile is on site. Good luck! Either way it will be quite outstanding!

No. It's ugly

Stunning tile! Use a light grout, like in your sample. The dark grout used in other pictures seems to steal a bit of it's wow factor.

Gotta disagree with using the bright white grout as used in the sample. It doesn't match your countertops. All you will see is grout lines. You want the focus on the tile, not grout.

I think lighter is better but not bright white. Grab some grout samples at your tile store and bring them home to compare with your countertop.

The backsplash is a statement for sure, but it will be driving the bus in the room, for sure...

and I am a fan of Picasso, but the tile does have a distinctive ethnic feel.

Judy-I was thinking the exact same thing-but only when it's laid on the horizontal and staggered. When it's vertical and not staggered, it has a very mid century feel to me.

Yikes! Getting nervous I didn't make the right choice. Too dark? Too mid century? Not going to work?

Who knew remodeling could be so stressful!

Chin up! Second guessing is inevitable. Wait to see the tile, and if it's not what you hoped, it's not too late to change your mind. Remember none of us get to look at your tile everyday so in the end *only* your opinion matters. And your spouse i suppose, if such a person exists!

I love your tile choice and I would lay it out just as you have shown it to us! I think you are going to LOVE it! You were drawn to it for a reason. I prefer the vertical look too with this tile and the lighter grout. It is going to be a stunner!

Thank you! SO much! Whew, this is scary. Such a large investment so I want it to be right the first time around. I'm not the most visual person so I'm still having a hard time picturing it with the grout. LOL, just breathe, just breathe... (my mantra today!)

Going to be gorgeous! What color grout are you using? If white, it will highlight the shapes of the tiles a bit more. I would keep it as neutral as possible. That would work with your countertop nicely. Just don't do a dark color grout.

See if you have a grout choice that is similar in tone to your countertop. That would work really well.

The grout color is a white and closely matches our counters. The tile guy is going to do a sample for review before grouting the entire kitchen. He's great! We have truly been blessed/lucky with amazing contractors as all have been different people (flooring, painted kitchen cabinets, quartz installer, and now tile).

Tile is finished and we love it! Thank you all for keeping me calm and confident with my choice
