Was your worm bin some sort of rotating composter 'cause when I have had worms in a tumbler-style bin the material inside would tend to form balls much like you seem to have. I dont' really have any simple solution to break them up other than what has already been mentioned. Good luck,

I have to side with Parsely it is much too wet needs more browns filtered in . Wouldnt hurt to pay a little more attention to your bin , fluff it up on occasion. Also do you have enough worms to take care of food you are putting in. At any rate appears you need to back off on feeding.

Thanks, when you say back off on feeding do you mean to not add a lot of food to the bin?

Try more bedding, more bedding, more bedding - and perhaps mix some in. If that doesn't do it, add less food.
