Nothing very specific, but some of these could be followed



1. You know this one, when moving furniture pieces onto/off of the rug, lift them, rather than pulling or dragging, silk is a little more delicate chances are it may get damaged.

2. Am sure this would never happen but never do topical (like dupont stainmaster or other strong cleaning agents), steam or chemical dry cleaning. If the rug winds up getting a lot of food stains or very dirty your best option is to get the rug professional cleaned, there are rug cleaners who are experts in silk and Sari silk. This is the best option, or damage to the rug is possible.

3. If there is a spill go for dabbing that liquid out with a soft cloth or a tissue like bounty

4. Our experience with other owners has been that, some of the stains and dirt get lost in the design, you can tell if you look very closely but not very obvious.

5. And if you plan to vacuum the rug, use a brushless vacuum. Never pull on the fringes, as it will damage the foundation. You can also use a brush/broom to comb and straighten the fringes before you start cleaning. You can avoid them all together by vacuuming parallel to the fringes.
