I think it would look good. see if you can incorporate some redwood instead of the white painted wood above. then you could have your concrete stained to go w/the redwood.

I think either one is fine. concrete is much less maintenance. Didn't you say you were doing concrete anyway? I just like the stained version w/the wood/cable railings.

Think comprehensively, please. The railing guy and the deck guy have to have a meeting and/or be coordinated. If you can't do this hire a GC that will, please.
