Either Borax or boric acid will work equally well. They both contain boron, which is the actual mineral that kills the insect. the boric acid is just mined a bit differently and is a finer grind/texture than the borax. Note: you need to place the product where the insect is most likely to walk through it in order to effect good control.

I have not seen this many earwigs in my yard before! They're everywhere and they're chewing through all my roses and bean sprouts. I just purchased diatomaceous earth to spread out in hopes of controlling them.

I know. It's disgusting. We found them in our mail box.......I was hoping it was a short term thing and they'd go away but we're having to wage war on them.

Did the diatomaceous earth help, and seriously it's like having cockroaches... we've been at war with them for a week now and they're everywhere

we used Borax...seemed to help some and maybe they kind of ran their course....worst is over now.....rarely see one

Roll up wet newspaper like cigars in the evening near their entry ways and then throw the rolls into the trash in the morning. They like that damp/dark confined place . It does a person good to see the critters bodies and do away with them. Borax is probably best for when they get into the house. That is when all bets are off...body wise. Just get them OUT.

We have started seeing these in a newly built house after 4 months of being here. There are on the 1st and 2nd floor (I haven't checked the unfinished basement) I have an exterminator coming but not until Monday. How long after they spray does it take for them to be gone. One crawled on me last night in my bed. Freaked Me Out !

Borax is a powder that you put along the cracks where they enter the house, usually along baseboards and doorways.
