It turns out that I will be coming to the swap. I couldn't miss it!

Oladon I have just the spot for a blackberry bush if you have one for me.

I ended up with three royal storm iris to share atvthe spring swap. GardenChloe, I have you, lizbest and I think skybird down for one...the first three people to yell dibs! I might be able to get a few more in the fall.

Cat, yes, I would still like one of the 'Royal Storm' Iris! About a month ago I sent you a couple pics of the "ruffly" lavender one I have that you said "on the other thread" you'd like one of. I "saved" one of the ones I potted up to give away to folks this spring for you, but since I hadn't heard from you I was thinking of "giving it back" to the person it was originally designated for--do you still want it? It's yours if you want it--or else it's going on a road trip with me in a couple weeks! Let me know!

Thanks Cat, I'll bring the fans you wanted of mine as well. I'll be dividing more after they bloom this year so will bring more to the fall swap. Still have several that need identification, even if it's NOID1, NOID2, etc... Started an Iris 2017 thread to share pics, so far I only have 1 iris open but lots of buds!

Mstywoods -- I'll also take any sempervivums, whatever the variety. When I post some pics of my backyard rock planter, you'll see why. ;)

I also just realized I've got some mock/Indian strawberry (Potentilla indica) for the offering, if anyone would like a couple starter plants. I think it got into my yard via the birds.

I'm not sure if I can dig 'em out of the rock mulch, but I might also have a few hardy farmhouse lilacs (noID) that have also popped up.

I have a ton of mint, so I'll bring a bunch to add for Oladon and Catnohat. Gardencloe, feel free to bring some, or I can cover it. Mine is completely out of control.

a baby shrub that needs identifying ( I can bring a picture of "mom")

sweet woodruff ( which is also completely out of control) - if there's interest, I can bring A LOT!

I have lots of white daisies, too, but will probably only bring them if there's interest. Seems like several other people have them as well, and actually know the variety.

Hope everything I pre-dug makes it through our cold snap, see it's supposed to get down to around 30 in Elizabeth tomorrow night. I'll be digging peonies in the cold Friday when I get home, prpbably some daylilies and blackberry lilies as well....

Hmmm... We woke up to 2-3" of snow on the ground with more snow forecast all the way through Friday night! I am not sure if I'll be able to dig anything up! If I can, I will probably bring a few perennial sunflower roots that haven't yet sprouted. I can bring some sempervivums and/or sedums, all of which have been at swaps before. If I can get to the lamb's ears, I'll bring some of those, too. I'm not sure what else would be gatherable, but I'll see what I can do! If it's all under 6-10" of snow, then I won't be able to bring much or maybe not even anything. I might bring some vegetable seed packets for things that I probably won't end up planting -- early spring weather had me feeling all giddy and optimistic.

I would be happy to take tomato starts, and I am OK with them being small or leggy. Basil starts would be great if there are extras. Other than that, I don't know if I really *need* anything, but I'm always happy to take the usual things home with me.

There is also a chance I won't make it to the swap, boo-hoo! But hopefully I will! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again. Saturday's weather forecast looks reasonable, yay!

At this point what I'm planning on bringing is some hoops, couple eggplants, onions and leek seedlings, calendula seedlings, one english lavander, snapdragons, summer savory and marjoram. Can also bring some of my frozen 99 pepper cubes and pesto cubes if anyone's interested. The 99 pepper cubes are a big hit with anyone that likes to cook. Not particularly hot but very complex flavor.

Ooh, dibs on the English lavender (if you're taking dibs).

You had mentioned bringing your hoop bender; would it be easiest if we brought some pipes or whatever you use to make them?

I'm going to bring the conduit already shaped. Not doing dibs.

Leek seedlings, yay! I would love to get some if there are extras, assuming I make it to the swap. Calendulas, too! And I could stand to restock my snapdragons since most didn't survive/reseed last winter. I would love to try some of the 99 pepper cubes but I'm not sure I can get them back home before they melt.

I'll be packing the cubes in a lot of ice.

I will raise my hand for the "container of sedums", gjcore. But if it's too much trouble, not to worry.

I have one hosta and I will try to dig some starts of Centaurea Montana purple heart perennial Bachelor Button. It's a vigorous grower and will take over if you let it.

I also have a lot of variegated vinca if anyone is interested for their container gardens. It's a "spiller". Ha!

I do have some other sedums I can bring as well.

I also think I found a baby blue spruce if someone is interested. Either way, it's coming out. So I'll put it in a pot and if someone wants it, cool. If not, compost it!

Due to weather, I will be doing this the morning of the swap. That should be interesting!

I'm still at Dulles airport, won't get in until around 5 this evening. Most of mine will be dug in the morning, just hoping there isn't much snow and ice...and that the seedlings I split out survived the cold.

I'm glad us gardeners are good sturdy people that have not given up despite the weather! I really was afraid the swap would be cancelled.

Faith, I would be happy to take some tomato cages, especially if I take home some tomato seedlings. We still have plenty of snow on the ground with snow still in the forecast, so my chances of bringing anything interesting are pretty low since things won't be too easy to dig up. I'll see how much melts vs falls by tomorrow morning. I can make arrangements for later delivery if people want anything that I might have to share.

popmama: I would be happy to take the blue spruce if no one else wants it, but I will definitely defer to anyone else who speaks up about it.

I don't want to be greedy because chances are I'm not bringing much. But I am usually happy to be a Home for Unwanted Plants.

I was going over the list this afternoon as I'm labeling things for those who have asked dibs, and since the only person who asked for houseplants was Amester, who sadly can't make it, I might leave those plants here at home as it's gonna be fairly chilly and they're mostly sensitive tropicals. HOWEVER if anyone wants any of the houseplants I listed earlier in this thread, please let me know specifically which ones before 8AM tomorrow so I can wrap 'em up in little winter coats and take them down to the swap for you.

Laura G., I have a bit of an African violet obsession so I'd gladly take the two you mentioned above.

Popmama -- I've been so busy that I forgot that I'd left the African violets for the swap next to a window during this last cold snap...and so they've gone into shock and wilted. Argh! I was so busy protecting my outside plants that I forgot about my sensitive indoor ones...

If you've got some grow lights and some patience, they might come out of it. Alternatively, I can bring some fresh cuttings from the parent plants and you can start your own from scratch.

Laura, that's understandable. Maybe next swap. I don't have any grow lights.

Everything at my house is still under snow. It's melting, but not fast enough to be able to dig anything. I apologize, and will definitely defer to others, who did bring plants, as everyone else's offerings find new homes today.

I was just outside digging and I have to say, the ground is perfect for digging. If there is a silver lining to the inclement weather, this is it. The ground was practically giving plants away!
