Need help ID Weed - spreading with long tap roots

I've looked everywhere for this weed; weedalert.com, worst garden weeds, search, image, downloaded a weed book with 100+ weeds and no such luck. This weed is noxious as it spreads from a central clump and has a super long tap root. I've pulled them out with pliers but usually cannot get the tap root. Can anyone help me identify this weed? I will be very grateful. Thank you.

I am afraid I can't help you but it would be useful to know where in the world this plant is growing. That narrows down the possibilities.

If your plant is growing within its' native habitat, investigating weeds would be very unlikely to lead to an ID.

Never mind, I did some searching and found that this is a prostate knotweed, or polygonum aviculare. It's a real pest of a weed. I live in Hawaii and it's spread everywhere.

Unless I have a totally wrong conception of the size of the foliage and of the plant as a whole this isn't Polygonum aviculare. It could be some other member of the same family, Polygonaceae. Can you give an idea of the leaf size? Some more pictures would help with a clearer idea of leaf arrangement and stems.
