If you want to brighten the room, I would suggest a warm creamy paint like BM marscapone for instance.. I would then do a back splash in the same tones. Actually by using a lighter shade of paint you could still keep the back splash you have now. Add counter top items like a white pitcher and fill it with utensils or flowers etc.

Something different. I just posted it on another thread but it would be a good color choice.

I'd pick the lightest color in the granite. And then pick a paint color. All more towards the warmer, creamier colors.

On my monitor, the Amazing Gray in your visualizer looks almost purple/blue (which it isn't).

It looks like your counter has browns and creams so I wouldn't veer off to gray for paint. I'd stick with warm cream/beige and then get cream tiles for the bs...not white.

Except for people who just plain love the combination, bringing a lot of gray and a lot of brown together successfully, and especially with an eye to lightening things up, would seem to require some skill.

Maybe step back, gather a collection of pictures of all the rooms you really like with gray walls (ignore brown for now) and ask yourself why you like how those were put together so much? Then the same for all those you really like with brown counters and cabinets. Why do you like your favorites? If among those are some that combine gray and brown in large amounts, then you can analyze how they do it. If not, you'll probably have a very good idea of the direction you want to go.

Then choose your backsplash. Btw, would removing or refinishing only your uppers as part of developing an overall picture be an option?

I have to agree with the advise about the gray. If you went with a cream as suggested, you could have a little fun with the backspash by using something a little bit more unexpected.

Countertop

I do not love the cabinets. Only thing holding me back from painting them is that they are different. I like the uniqueness. Rest of the house is white and gray. Amazing Gray looks almost white in the kitchen. hard to get it to look the same in pictures.

Kitchens I like online are usually white, gray, with gray glass back splash.

Cannot figure out how to edit my comment from my phone. Amazing Gray is the top paint color above. Mindful Gray is the bottom. Thanks for all the opinions.
