and to right of window - a door?

I wondered about lower unit- console under window [heater?]. Also something at left, and open shelves above.

A lot of changes really depend on your budget. I'll try to list two non budget busting or wall removing options...

i think two quick and non destructive ideas would be to update your blinds asap and paint the cabinets a lighter color.

alternatively, since the cupboards don't look in horrible shape you could leave them as is, but definitely update the counter and flooring then to brighten them up.

The wall you see to the right of the stove with the lightswitch is just a partial wall next to the door leading to the basement. And to the right of the window at the end is another window. These are pictures the realtor had up when our home was still on the market. It looks a little better now that we have some of our things on the counter. I can certainly get some dimensions tomorrow. I can also draw up a small floorplan so you can see what it looks like. (It's midnight here) Thank you for the comments thus far!

Too late for me too almost -- but saying too bad that 'window corner' couldn't be squared off to make a new corner [for bit more interior space]!?

by adding a bit onto the house with all windows / funky accenting materials...
