HI -- You have " before it is finished " thoughts . This happens to everyone . Wait until it is finished before you make up your mind about what doesn't look right for you . The cabinets look fine to me right now but wait to see it all put together , then decide on things . Have you asked the builder if there is another cabinet door style available .

I need to pick out countertops, backsplash, light fixtures, stove, faucet, cabinet hardware. I would say my style is vintage, with some rustic mixes. I will probably lean a bit towards traditional in some cases because of the exterior of the house and other decisions the builder made before we decided on the house. I'm trying to avoid painting them to save somewhere on cost ;)

no need to paint. they are nice cabinets. a friend of mine got very similar cabinets and went with soapstone. she also wanted to do a green glass splash to play off the soapstone veining.

you didn't give us a budget, so it's hard to advise. pick your countertop and flooring before anything else.

Take a door with you and go walk around a stoneyard to get ideas of what looks good. don't go off a tiny sample because that's not a true image of what the entire stone will look like. once the countertop/flooring is in, then pick your splash, paint colors and lighting and hardware. Unless you have a specific backsplash that you HAVE to use, then find a countertop that matches that.

these are off white w/gray quartz. the other elements make a huge difference. (lighting, ceiling, glass in the cabs, black trim, farmhouse sink, wood floors). your cabinets are but one element in the entire equation.

this backsplash is white onyx. but it's more cream. if you got a solid quartz (gray, cream, charcoal ), butcher block or black countertop, this would look very nice.

Navy and blue always looks nice with cream. Might be good for a backsplash and pick a warm white countertop or even a warm gray.

Here is an example of what we did with cabinets like you have installed in your kitchen and it doesn't look French country at all.

What is your dream look? Like if you could start from scratch?

i just worry that if you don't like the cream cabinets, and you then pick countertops, floors, and a backsplash that match the cream, you might end up with a nice looking kitchen that you are dissatisfied with every single time you walk in the room

don't throw good money after bad. If you want a different color cabinet, then the money painting them is worth it. Otherwise you are picking all the other things to match cream and not to match your hearts vision ( sorry that sounded really cheesy but I hope you understand what I mean )

Michelle, thanks for the pictures. But those cabinets look either white or light grey. Which in my opinion have a much different vibe than cream.
