Hey Ken, bought and planted last fall. Came from a nursery a couple zones cooler than here. The browning showed up in the last couple weeks. We had a mild spring until last week when temps rose to the mid 80's. We've had quite a bit of rain as well.

Mid 80's in Georgia this time of year should not have caused this. I don't know what the issue is but I don't think is heat.

P.S. I used to have a row of these until the DEER ate them all.

"shade.. from direct sin.."

Made my day, thanks!

Very yellow selections of Hinoki cypress can develop that scorched look here in the PNW as well. It has nothing to do with temperatures but everything to do with full sun. Most better nurseries that grow these plants (Iseli, Stanley and Sons, Conifer Kingdom) will caution you about a full sun location, suggesting they need some shade in the afternoon to prevent scorching.

That is bright! You might have just sold me one.
