If the whole shoot wilts and turns black in 24 hours, then I would guess fireblight? Fireblight gets in thru the flowers (blossom blight) or by shoot blight on tender young growth that is injured in any way (very common if have rain and hail and the fireblight bacteria present all at same time). Immunox is a fungicide and will not do anything for fireblight. Dormant oil primarily is used to smother eggs of overwintering insects (mites in particular).

Dormant oil if applied when temps too high can burn foliage but not sure this is the issue since you mention only the tender new growth is looking bad. Some oils can be applied when really warm but not all.

It looks more like fireblight to me. Some apple varieties are more prone to it than others. Certain areas of the county seem to have it worse (down south) than other areas too. The only spray available that I am aware of is streptomyocin which only provides some protection for blossom blight as it is applied just as the flowers are fully open. It will not protect against fireblight that strikes the tender new shoots.

If this is fireblight, you will want to prune off the infected wood as it can travel into the trunk and kill off parts or all of your tree. Be sure to sterilize your pruners between cuts with a solution of 9 parts water, one part bleach.

Thank you, I had Fertilome but didn't use it. This is my 4th year growing apples, I'm still learning. It's humid here in NC and hot. Last year the tree bloomed for the first time, and had a few apples -I got Pixie Crunch variety.

Will definitely spray next year.

Tis early in the season, more likely powdery mildew.

I would bet on fire blight.

Went today and trimmed off all sick parts, got pruners cleansed. I guess I will be spraying it next year when they bloom. Thank you!
