Please identify this iris. It is a tall bearded iris about 26" tall.

Is there a name for the little petals attached to the beards?

I'd want to compare with a known example in person before adopting a name. Even then, there are so many kinds...

I forgot to mention that it has a clove-like perfume.

The petals attached to the beards are called spoons or horns. This looks like a "space age" iris. I do not know the name.

I googled space age iris and I think it is 'Unfinished business". Please let me know if you thinks this is correct. Susan

Fortunately, the space age iris with spoons like yours are not very common. Looking at your pictures, I would say there is a very good chance yours is "Unfinished Business".

Here is Unfinished Business in my garden in 2016.. I would offer to send you a rhizome to grow next to yours but I dug that bed last year. I will check to see if it has pbf, if it does that would be another indicator that it might be UB..

love this iris. i've been wanting to add space agers to my garden in Maidens VA
