Ants are usually neutral in the garden unless farming aphids which they usually do on fruiting trees. I don't think you need to do anything they won't eat your strawberries.

Ants will eat the ripe strawberries and anything else sweet. Contrary to what others have indicated they will damage and often kill any plant near their nest just as part of their nest maintenance habit. I've had multiple greenhouse tomato plants girdled at the soil level near nests of ants and the easiest control is a specific ant bait.

Usually they will only eat the fruit if it's been damaged by another animal or splits from being over ripe in my experience. They leave the healthy fruit untouched.

I've had vegetable plants killed by ants simply tunnelling underneath them. The roots dry out. I don't mind ants in the garden per se but I'm not happy to have nests around plants.
