My first epiphyte mount, opinions?

last modified: 9 years ago

I love the look of cork mounts! I attempted my first with a little of my Hoya pubera and a free cutting I received (and rooted) labeled 'lacunosa flat-leaf'... Opinions needed for the following:

1) Should I cut the trailing portion of the lacunosa to fill out the middle and start new growth? (I worry as to how easily it would root on the mount)

and...

2) I have one more piece of cork wood I would love to fill out as well... I have Hoya bilobata that might be fun to try?

My curtisii is a jerk but finally doing okay in a shell planter I made, so that is staying RIGHT WERE IT IS... and I just purchased DS 70 and sigillatis... But I really don't want to risk losing any of the latter.

Cheers-
Sara
