Mac's Glacial Grape

One flower stem has 9 flowers! The color is so deep and rich. One of my favorite little plants. Grows well in natural light too.

Hello! welcome to violets online Marianne. I received Mac's Glacial Grape (MGG) it in a trade. It can be bought on ebay. Living in Canada makes it a bit harder to trade/share and buy though. I only grow in natural light, I posted a photo of my window shelves recently. Good luck on your project and post photos when you are done. My tip, be sure to have a fan or two blowing in the room for air circulation, a fan made my life so much easier when I grew under lights.

Welcome, Marianne. I'll start a new thread with some photos of my growing area and hopefully others will add to it to give you some ideas for your new basement space.

Hello again! I am so excited by the idea of receiving news on a violet forum!!! I wish you will understand my english even if it is not perfect. I want to have your advise about the distance I should have between the plant and the neon for growing violet. My father used to have a growing area for his gloxinia when I was child and it has about 12 inches. Is it too much? Thanks for the blower advice.

See my best mini violet actually. Do you know how is named the second one? I have a burgendy doubled frieze that is almost 2 1/2 inches flower size. I can,t wait to see it all bloomed. I will send you a picture then.

I went on ebay I saw the MGG. They are all gone now. I will be patient and will find it one day.

I am a 5 children's mother, I hope to be able to write as often as possible!

Marianne, don't worry, you came to the right place and if we don't understand the question we will ask you! No problem!!!!!

My violets are about 12 to 14 inches from the light tubes. They seem to do well. Here are my babies under the lights! Rosie

As you can see it is nothing fancy, just an old long table but it will do for now!
