Artwork - Center over sectional or entire wall

I need to purchase some wall decor for our family room (couch will eventually be recovered and fluffed up - but size will stay the same). Should I plan to purchase 2 pieces centered over the sectional portion, then fill in with another "something" (clock, mirror, etc.) over the end table? Or purchase two pieces to center over the entire wall section (sectional and table)? Hope this makes sense!

Yep - you both just illustrated my daily internal struggle on what to do :)

On that section of wall I personally would center it in the wall space. One large piece centered or a triptych 3 piece with center piece center of the wall.

Not to be contrary ;-0 but I would center a large piece over the sectional and fill in with a table lamp on the end table, not more wall art. The remaining wall is fine blank. I would have a piece (or something like a diptych or triptych) that at fills in a great portion of the area above the couch.

Can we get a shot from farther away? My first instinct was to center on the wall. Of course, my first instinct was also to get artwork that is 6 feet wide and 4 feet high, which might not be what you had in mind (or can afford).
