Need a suggestion for color

I just had this bed planted with the three Weigela Midnight Wine. They kind of get "lost" against the dark mulch. I was thinking of planting a couple green Heuchera in between to set them off.

This area is in the northwest corner of my yard. I hear the green varieties can't tolerate much sun. It would get very early morning sun and some brief afternoon sun.

Does this sound like a good plan? Not a fan of hosta and I have enough of them already.

Picture is slightly deceiving as there is not as much space in front of the Weigela as it looks.

Kassandras do well for me in part sun. Here are some of mine, with the wind blowing up their skirts. :)

Not true!! The greens will tolerate a lot of sun......in fact, many sources will indicate full sun is desired in all but the southernmost locations. You just want to avoid those with very light green coloring or a green that tends to the chartreuse or lime color, but something like 'Green Spice', 'Peppermint Spice', 'Firefly', 'Ruby Bells' or 'Splendens' will be happy in all day sun in most locations, provided soil is sufficiently moist

My choice would be Autumn Bride. They thrive under any conditions here. Sun isn't a problem for them. If you want carefree this is the one. The leaves are a little fuzzy. Here it is growing next to iris.

Autumn Bride reminds me of Lady's Mantle (not sure if the conditions are right for Lady's Mantle...they'd provide lovely bright flowers against the Weigela ).

Well the landscaper replaced the Weigala with a different kind -- My Monet, so they show up better. Think I'll do annuals now, and maybe coral bells near them in late summer.

One of my most reliable heuchies, which gets morning sun, is Marmalade. My Georgia Peach, in a pot of its own, is also doing well. Rio got enormous this year, too, as did Frost.

Marmalade is at the lower right. It is slightly under a Neon Flash dwarf spirea.
